Aquatic Invasive Species Working Group

The Aquatic Invasive Species Working Group was established by the WAFWA President and directors in 2009. The working group’s members consist of state and provincial fish and wildlife agency personnel who have technical expertise and oversight of matters involving aquatic invasive species within their respective jurisdictions. The working group’s approved Statement of Purpose:

“To collaborate in the development and implementation of coordinated and aligned action planning for invasive species that affect wildlife, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation for western state and provincial wildlife agencies. Because of the issues raised by the presence of quagga and zebra mussels in the West, the Invasive Species Working Group will focus its initial efforts on action planning for these species and similar aquatic invasive species.”
