The organization Species Restoration Foundation (SRF) f/k/a Western Conservation Foundation, is a non-profit, public benefit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(4) organization. Members consist of the Chief Administrative Officers of the western state’s fish and game departments, or their equivalent, which are member agencies of Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA). The organization’s Board of Directors delegates authority to the WAFWA Executive Committee to act on behalf of the governing body.

SRF has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as organizations described in Section 501(c)(4).
SRF Objectives – Constitution and Bylaws
The SRF shall be devoted solely to the pursuance of the objects and purposes set forth in the Articles of Incorporation: to provide assistance to Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA), the member states and fish wildlife agencies of WAFWA, and other natural resources support entities for a wide range of conservation projects and programs; to utilize range-wide conservation plans to preclude the need to list species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973 and conserve species for future generations while facilitating continued and uninterrupted economic activity.
Public Reporting
WAFWA believes in transparency and accountability to its members and the general public by making available information on our by-laws and most recently filed tax returns and public charity status.
