Wildlife research is critical to ensure WAFWA member states can effectively manage the species in their trust – and this is possible using funding through the Pittman-Robertson program that directs excise taxes paid by manufacturers of archery equipment, firearms, and ammunition to state wildlife conservation and restoration. However, many of the manufacturers paying into this effective system of conservation funding don’t always know how their investment is making a difference.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Partner with a Payer initiative helps tell this story to the industry to showcase the work that state fish and wildlife agencies are doing around the country.
