Directors and Commissioners Retreat
Join us on July 10 for an exciting day on the Rio Grande. The day will start with a visit to the Taos Gorge Bridge to discuss one of New Mexico’s most well-known Bighorn Sheep herds. We will then head into Taos for a meeting and lunch. The afternoon will wrap up with a rafting trip down the Rio Grande.

Fisheries and Information and Education Chiefs Retreat
Get ready to step back in time at Bandelier National Monument. Bandelier is 33,000 acres of rugged but beautiful canyon and mesa country that depicts evidence of a human presence here going back more than 11,000 years. Petroglyphs, dwellings carved into the soft rock cliffs, and standing masonry walls pay tribute to the early days of a culture that still survives in the surrounding communities. More Info (Link)

Wildlife and Law Enforcement Chiefs Retreat
At the base of the Pecos Wilderness is the beautiful Cow Creek Ranch, a historic fly-fishing guest ranch. We will spend the day fishing, discussing the effects of historic wildfires in the West, and meeting amongst the pines.

GUEST TRIP: Loretto Line Tour – Downtown Santa Fe Guided Tram Tour
We will jump aboard an open-air tram for a trip that includes historical areas in Santa Fe, including Canyon Road and its colorful art galleries, Santa Fe’s Museum Hill area, the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the Palace of the Governors, and other notable locations in the heart of the oldest capital city in the United States. There will be plenty of time after the tour to go shopping or revisit some of these historic sites. GUEST TRIP: Pecos Village
Just outside Santa Fe, the small village of Pecos is a cultural crossroads through which hunters and gatherers, traders, conquerors and explorers, immigrants, soldiers, ranchers, and tourists passed. Walk the trails and imagine Pecos through the centuries. Explore sites where cultural demonstrations and traditional practices continue today — a living legacy of the people who passed this way. Welcome Reception
Everyone is invited to the New Mexico History Museum for the Welcome Reception. Just a 6-minute walk (.3 miles from the Eldorado Hotel) the museum is a local landmark, and destination for anyone who wants to understand the diverse experiences of the people of New Mexico, the dynamics that have shaped our state, and the relationships that connect our region with the rest of the world. Matanza
Wrap up the week at our New Mexico Matanza. Everyone is invited to eat, drink, enjoy local music and celebrate a great week in The Land of Enchantment.

The negotiated group rate for WAFWA is $195.00 per room, per night plus 15.4375% tax.
