At our 2026 Summer Meeting in June, the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies board of directors elected Alan Jenne, Director of Nevada Department of Wildlife, as their new President.

Prior to becoming President, Alan served as a member on the Executive Committee and as Leadership Sponsor to both the Wildlife Movement & Connectivity Initiative and the Wildlife Movement and Migration Committee.

He still actively serves as the Chair of the Sagebrush Initiative Committee and Leadership Sponsor of the Sagebrush Conservation Initiative.

Alan is replacing Jim Fredericks, Director of Idaho Department of Fish and Game who served one year term as President of WAFWA.

Jenne will chair his first WAFWA meeting at the Executive Leadership Meeting December 9-11, 2026 in Colorado.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife will be hosting the 2027 WAFWA Summer meeting at State Line near Lake Tahoe on June 14-18, 2027.
