The organization Foundation for Western Fish and Wildlife (FWFW) is a non-profit, public benefit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(3) organization. Members consist of the Chief Administrative Officers of the western state’s fish and game departments, or their equivalent, which are member agencies of Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA). The organization’s Board of Directors delegates authority to the WAFWA Executive Committee to act on behalf of the governing body.

FWFW has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organizations described in Section 501(c)(3), qualifies for the charitable contributions deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi), and has been determined not to be a private foundation under Section 509(a)(1).
FWFW Objectives – Constitution and Bylaws
The FWFW shall be devoted solely to the pursuance of the objects and purposes set forth in the Articles of Incorporation: to provide grants and other assistance to WAFWA, their member agencies, and other natural resources support entities for a wide range of projects and programs; to support the preservation, protection and management of all wildlife in the WAFWA member states, territories and provinces; and to develop and promote public interests, education and support for the preservation and enhancement of fish and wildlife habitat in WAFWA member states, territories and provinces and other parts of North America where habitat concerns may impact fish and wildlife.
Public Reporting
WAFWA believes in transparency and accountability to its members and the general public by making available information on our by-laws and most recently filed tax returns and public charity status.
