The Nongame/Endangered Species Committee was established by the President to be comprised of members from the Board as appointed by the President and affirmed by the Board. The committee’s approved Statement of Purpose:
“To identify and address nongame and endangered species issues, and provide support on them to the WAFWA member states and provinces, in particular to the Directors’ ESA/SARA Working Group. Further, coordinate relevant activities with, and among, WAFWA member states and provinces, federal agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and the Threatened and Endangered Species Policy Committee of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.”
